LARRY KRAISS, M.D.

LAB WEBSITE

B.S. 1982 Southern California College
M.D. 1986 Baylor College of Medicine

RESEARCH:

Dr Kraiss' clinical research interests are focused on the perioperative management of patients undergoing carotid endarterectomy and less invasive methods of performing lower extremity revascularization. He also runs an active basic science laboratory that investigates how blood flow affects the biology of blood vessel wall cells. Much of this work is aimed at discovering why atherosclerotic plaques tend to form in areas of arteries that have unique patterns of blood flow. Dr Kraiss is the recipient of several research awards including the Lifeline Foundation Research Award and has been named the 1997 Wylie Scholar in Academic Vascular Surgery.
